Purple Hand Mask

I made this mask from high-fire ceramic, and painted it with acrylic.

Whereas the old brown hand was meant to be lumpy and knuckly, I wanted the purple hand mask to be thin and spidery.

When I was a counselor at a camp teaching ceramics and sculpture, I taught the kids how to put a blob of clay over their finger and create wrinkles and a fingernail and such. It became a very popular activity; soon, all these kids were running around with huge gray Shrek fingers.

Here's some weirdo holding the mask.
