The Stoneman is the first sculpture that I made for an Art Exchange that I organized, an art-for-art trade with other amatuer artists throughout the country.
To make Stoneman, I went into the hills around my house and picked up a number of rocks. I then dumped the rocks out, and organized them into some semblance of a creature. I added clay, glue, and that twig for a walking stick, and the Stoneman just sort of pulled himself together.
I sent the Stoneman to West Virginia, and received a wonderful ceramic urn in return, and also later visited the other artist to learn how to create my own ceramic pots. We collaborated on a few art pieces together, and overall it was a great experience.
